On May 30, 2023 His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion received the relics of St Katherine of Alexandria from H.H. Pope Tawadros II at the Papal Residence in Cairo, after the meeting of the Synodical Subcommittee for the Lands of Immigration. These relics were gifted by Pope Francis in Rome on May 10, 2023 in a special meeting which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the historic meeting between Pope Shenouda III and Pope Paul VI.
