To enter into such a life needs years of preparation, prayer and struggle, through the help and blessing of our Lord, to be a faithful call.
After receiving the call from our Lord Jesus Christ to minister to the world, St. Paul traveled to Arabia, where he spent three years in meditation, reflection and asceticism (Gal. 1:15-18). Similarly, those seeking to enter into the Brotherhood are asked to spend a three-month period of prayer, praise and reflection in the monastery.
Similar also to the period of 40 days which the ordained presbyter spends in the monastery, the brother spends a period of time in the deserts reflecting on his new life of service, chastity and obedience.
