On Sunday October 23, 2002 His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion, the Bishop of Los Angeles, Southern California, Hawaii, celebrated the first divine liturgy at St. Thomas the Hermit Coptic Orthodox Church in Temecula, along with the church clergy Father Abraam Ayoub and Father George Galla.
After the prayer of the reconciliation His Eminence Ordained two of the cantors to the Subdeacon rank and five cantors (Psaltos).
After the distribution of the Eulogia His Eminence along with the church clergy and the congregation attended a choir performance and watched a video about the life of St. Thomas the Hermit that was prepared by the youth of the church.
