On The Third Sunday of the Great Fast, March 12, 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion accompanied by His Grace Bishop Abraham and His Grace Bishop Kyrillos consecrated St. John The Baptist Coptic Orthodox Church in Oxnard, California.
The main altar was consecrated in the name of St. John The Baptist and the side altar was consecrated in the name of St. Zechariah the priest and his wife St. Elizabeth.
In the history of the Diocese this is a milestone, as it is the first time the right of the consecration prayer and its entire was prayed.
Apart from our father His Eminence and Their Graces, all or part of this blessed event was Hegumen Father Markos Hanna, Hegumen Father Bishoy Kamel, and Presbyters Fr. Youssef Zakki, Fr. Jeremiah Said, Fr. David Elshewekh, Fr. John Ghaly, and Archdeacon Gabriel Hanna
