Holy Cross Coptic Orthodox Church was established on October 16, 2013 as the second parish to serve the County of San Diego. It began as an idea to serve families living in the northern part of the county, which includes the cities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, and more. Now, it has two branches: an Oceanside branch that holds services on Saturdays in northern San Diego County and a San Diego branch that holds services on Sundays and throughout the week in southern San Diego County.
The first service was held in Oceanside during the three-day Feast of the Cross in September 2013.
