A Statement from the Clergy Synod of the 
Diocese of Los Angeles Regarding the 
Non-Canonical Action of Choosing the Patriarch
 from among the Diocesan Bishops


Under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Serapion, the bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii, we, the clergy, have researched and studied the canons pertaining to the selection of the Patriarch from among the diocesan bishops or metropolitans. This occurred on two consecutive clergy meetings, one on Thursday, May 3, followed by another on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, respectively, whereupon, after fervent prayers, research, and discussions, we came to the following statement…
