Biography

Father John Paul Abdelsayed has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from UCLA and a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. Most recently, he earned a Masters in Theology from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary in Brookline, Massachusetts.

He served as a consecrated deacon at St. Mary & St. Athanasius Church in the San Fernando Valley, California from 1992 to 1996; at St. Mark Church in Washington DC from 1996 to 1999, and at the Coptic Orthodox Christian Center since 2000.

His Grace Bishop Serapion ordained him as a celibate priest for St. Paul Brotherhood on October 20, 2002.

Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D in Theology from Notre Dama University in Indiana.
