The nuns of St. Demiana’s Monastery has recently translated into English a detailed life story of Saint Demiana taken from 2 sources: Synaxarium and an Arabic book published by their monastery in 2005 detailing her life story taken from ancient manuscripts. They took the effort to translate her life story into English from Arabic because her life story is very compelling, detailed and powerful such that no other saint has such a detailed and vivid life story published.

St. Demiana Coptic Church invites you to its third annual festival. Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10 from 11 am to 6 pm. The festival will be on the church grounds located on 9200 White Lane, on the corner of Park View Drive in southwest Bakersfield. The festival will offer activities for children, authentic Middle Eastern food, informational movie, gift shop, bookstore, photo opportunity with the kings and queens of ancient Egypt and a church tour.
